About Jonas Lamis


Jonas Lamis is the founder and Executive Director of SciVestor, a research and advisory firm focused on understanding how the coming waves of technology (artificial intelligence, robotics, life enhancement and others) will disrupt the business, economic, and social frameworks of society.

Mr. Lamis is also the co-founder and a Partner at Tech Ranch Austin, a pre-seed and seed stage venture incubator focused on accelerating technology companies that can change the world.  Tech Ranch Austin currently runs two incubator facilities in Austin, Texas.  Companies in the Tech Ranch Portfolio include:  Piryx, OneSpot, IPX, Zehicle, BeGreeted, Whagaa and OpenSesa.me

Mr. Lamis is the on the Board of Directors of Humanity +, Formerly the World Transhumanist Association.  He was co-organizer of 2008 The Singularity Summit, and his company hosts an annual emerging technologies workshop associated with that event.

Mr. Lamis also is the founder and Editor of Architecture and Governance Magazine.  A&G is the leading magazine focused on helping large IT organizations plan and manage major transformation initiatives.  The magazine is circulated to approximately 15,000 key IT decision-makers on a quarterly basis.

Over the last decade, Mr. Lamis has held executive and managerial roles in venture-backed software companies.   Prior to founding SciVestor and Tech Ranch Austin, he was the Vice President of Alliances and Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Troux Technologies.  He holds a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Texas, a Masters of Science from The Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
